Newington Veterinary Clinic was founded in 1972 by Dr. Joseph Helfand. Dr. Helfand provided medical and surgical care for the pets of Newington until his retirement in 2001.
Dr. Lynn Fortin, a Newington native, purchased the clinic in 2001. Her vision was to provide a caring, compassionate environment for area pets along with offering the most current therapies available in veterinary medicine and surgery. Her training at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine enables her to practice quality medicine in conjunction with area specialists.
Newington Veterinary Clinic is an “old fashioned” service-oriented clinic that treats you and your pet as family. In a day where many clinics are corporate owned, Dr. Fortin continues to be the sole owner, insisting on providing a more intimate veterinary experience.
